It is called Sella, and it’s the new It bag from Tod’s for Fall Winter 2013-14, on sale starting September. And to present it, the Italian label has teamed up with an exceptional artist for a very special collaboration: David LaChapelle, the American photographer with a marked artistic sensitivity; the project is called Pop Touch and aims at being a dreamlike voyage into saddlery – the utmost expression of craftsmanship applied to accessories – to interpret the new It-bag in a dynamic and unique way.
“The values of quality and craftsmanship have always been part of Tod’s DNA – said Diego Della Valle, CEO of the Tod’s Group – but we wanted to express them in a completely new and unusual way. This is why we called on David LaChapelle, an artist whose work I have long admired, to interpret the idea of saddlery with a Pop Touch.”
