Fresh for Spring/Summer 2014, Jean Paul Gaultier has unveiled Junior Gaultier Couture, an haute couture line for children that is set to be updated every six months. For his first dress for little girls, Jean Paul Gaultier chose the Indian-inspired finale dress for his Spring/Summer 2013 collection as a starting point, but unlike the couture original, the mini version did not need 60 hours of painstaking work. With a silk bodice and tulle skirt, the dress also comes with a Swarovski crystal bolero that buttons up the back. Available in ivory and padparadscha – the color of a particular lotus flower, that also lends its name to a sapphire – this first piece will be on sale worldwide in time for the end-of-year party season, in a limited run of 90 pieces for each colorway.
