Jane Weitzman-A Book On Art Shoes-“Art and Sole”

Jane Weitzman, the wife of American shoe designer Stuart Weitzman, has published a book of fantasy shoes, “Art and Sole”, shoes that she herself bought during time, a normality for a shoe lover.

She used to decorate the windows her husband stores with shoes, created from corrugated cardboard, wire, wool, steel or flowers, just to attract clients. “The windows showcased the art, and didn’t hurt business at all,” Jane Weitzman said. “It attracted people into the stores. Because, as you know, most of the world puts products in the window. We didn’t put the merchandise in the windows. I took that chance and I think it paid off. At the time I did what no one else was doing.”

The book that she put together includes more than 150 photos of “fantasy shoes” and can be found on amazon, “Art and Sole”.
