This summer, designers are taking inspiration from the works of pointillist artists – they created a special technique of blending the colours. It is a technique with few serious practitioners today, and is notably seen in the works of Seurat and also Andy Warhol‘s early works – and from the 50’s costumes when the dots were at the peak of popularity. Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Dior, Saint Laurent and many other designers have decorated their accessories for Spring-Summer collections with polka dots, combining the charm of yesteryear in a very modern and fashionable way.
