In little more than a year, Lupita Nyong’o‘s life turned from being a common citizen of the world into a Oscar winning actress, the face of Lancôme and the Miu Miu campaign – in short, a style icon, recognised by people everywhere. She is a classy figure and now here she is on her first Vogue cover, the July 2014 issue, photographed by Mikael Jansson, in a variety of bold and colourful prints.
About the success she encountered Lupita says: “It just feels like the entertainment industry exploded into my life. People who seemed so distant all of a sudden were right in front of me and recognizing me—before I recognized them!” – as for the paparazzi following her : “For a split second I looked behind me to see who they were flashing at—and it was me! That was, I think, the beginning of the end of my anonymity.”
On being a fashion icon: “It’s a job; it’s work, you know! We’d just try, try, try, try, try, try, try. At first it was very daunting, but I ended up really having fun with it.”

She is absolutely gorgeous; I love how she makes every style her own 🙂
She definitely owns this photoshoot. I particularly like the one just before the cover photo. Thanks for bringing this to us…
