Confirmed – Galliano Is The New Creative Director Of Maison Martin Margiela

John Galliano – The new designer of Maison Martin Margiela Couture line

The January 2015 show of Maison Martin Margiela will be one of the most anticipated since the new creative director of the house will be John Galliano. It’s official. Due to the anti-Semitic tirade, that led to the dismissal of Galliano from Dior, the British designer, four times winner of the “Designer of the year” award, made his come back into the fashion world, step by step. A world he can’t stand to be aside, a world he shouldn’t be apart, not when it comes to the high couture legacy, not when it comes to one of the most controversial couturier in Paris.

In charge with all the Martin Margiela lines, a new one awaits the day to be seen, worn, criticised and loved – the new Maison Martin Margiela couture line,  – with a brand “new” Galliano, recovered from his bad habits of drinking and drugs, and an already existing team, of five or six staff members hired by the designer – “I have yet to design my best collection,” he told French newspaper Le Point. “The new Galliano will be even bigger and better… I love working, it’s my therapy. I can draw until four in the morning every night and not feel tired… I’ve come face to face with my demons, medicine and alcohol. I have rebuilt myself again.

Margiela is ready for a new charismatic creative soul,” said Renzo Rosso, president of OTB, which controls Margiela. “John Galliano is one of the greatest, undisputed talents of all time – a unique, exceptional couturier for a maison that always challenged and innovated the world of fashion. I look forward to his return to create that fashion dream that only he can create, and wish him to here find his new home.
