For the new Alexander McQueen Spring 2015 RTW Collection, Sarah Burton was in a Japanese state of mind – this is not the first time the house uses Asian motifs in its shows or use the ethereal white orchids as inspiration – geisha and samurai embodied the extremes of her latest line, cherry-blossom petals adorned the precious handbags in shades of soft pink, and, of course, for the lovers of the darker inner side of Alexander McQueen, lashed-up gladiator boots with eyewateringly precarious platforms where present completed by shiny black masks which outlined every face.
