Fendi teamed up with Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna and Jourdan Dunn for a new charitable project to celebrate the Italian brand’s new flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York. These fashion icons got to choose the style – colours and materials – featuring their own personal taste for the house’s 3baguette handbag, launched last year by Fendi. The accessories will be unveiled on February 13, at an exclusive cocktail party hosted at the Madison Avenue store by Karl Lagerfeld, Silvia Venturini Fendi and chairman Pietro Beccari. The new bags will be sold on an auction site, set to launch later this month, and they will be on display in the store until March 13.
The benefits from the sale will go to “The Brain Trauma Foundation” – for SJP’s designs – “The Clara Lionel Foundation” – Rihanna’s centre founded in the honour of her grandparents – and Dunn’s go to “The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America”. Bravo, bravo, bravo – three times bravo!
“The Fendi customer is active in different fields and engaged socially,” Beccari told WWD, “There is not only one kind of woman and they are each excellent in their own field, it’s a celebration of femininity. After all, think of the five [Fendi] sisters. Karl and I are like brothers surrounded by all these women.”
