The Missonis are well-known for their colorful, vivid and dynamic vision of life which they all share and express so lovely through fashion. But they do have another passion – the love for cooking! It’s been in the making for seven years and now it has finally seen the light – The Missoni Family Cook Book at Assouline Editions– a gathering of 130 family recipes passed down for four generations.

Francesco Maccapani Missoni, together with his gorgeous grandmother, Rosita Missoni and with the help of his mother, Angela Missoni, came up with the idea, only from a strong desire to preserve family traditions. “The idea was for everyone in the family to have their own recipe book from the last two generations. In 2013, my grandfather passed away and my grandmother was 80 at the time, so it made me start thinking that in the future when she passes away, these traditions could get lost,” Francesco said to WWD.

“People buy Missoni to be part of our lives, to feel like they’re part of the tribe. They relate to the brand because they can see we are simple people who enjoy life. We maintain a balance between the real world and fashion,” said Maccapani Missoni.

“We are really seasonal. At home, we only use fresh, local, seasonal produce, and most herbs and vegetables come from our garden,” says Franscesco Maccapani Missoni.
