You See It Also? $ 55 Million Graff “Hallucination” Watch Shown at Baselworld

Graff is in the watch business for little more than five years but now the house took it serious and created ‘Hallucination’ – a 110 carats watch made of colourful diamonds of the highest quality – and presented it at Baselworld. Yet what the milling crowds may not immediately realise is that the small, brightly coloured lady’s watch – at which some visitors idly glance as they walk past one of Graff’s armoured windows – is the most expensive object ever displayed at the fair. The stated price is impressive even by the standards of jewelry – Hallucination will cost  55 million dollars. Mr Graff is said to have spent a considerable amount of time amassing the stones used for the watch, which he calls a “sculptural masterpiece” and a “celebration of coloured diamonds”. “For many years I have thought about creating a truly remarkable watch that illustrates our all-consuming passion for diamonds,” he says. “The Hallucination has made my dream a reality.

Graff luxury house showed the world the unique jewellery watch – bracelet and dial are completely encrusted with colored fancy diamonds of highest quality: red, pink, violet, yellow, cognac, blue, and green olive. Realizing that few can believe it, they called this masterpiece  fairly: Hallucination.

Another impressive watch shown at Baselworld is the one from De Grisogono – Tondo by Night. They used 108 amethysts and a purple leather bracelet. The watch absorbs light and then gives it back in the dark due to its fluorescent formula. The novelty will be in stores and de Grisogono Corner for luxury department stores worldwide this summer.

Another timeless piece that can’t be ignored is the one of Patek Philippe – a total gold watch with 66 diamonds.

Les Volants de la Reine – a new precious watch from Breguet took our breath away. Its form refers to silk bows and Marie Antoinette – the first client of this house. The diamond cut baguette created a twisted ribbon, topped by two sapphires – curls and bow are decorated with pavé diamonds.
